Greetings brave Knight,
Guild Wars is a game mode focused around Guilds controlling and defending points on a node-based map against three other Guilds and various Monster encounters. It was firstly introduced on September 28th, 2022.
What is a Guild?
Guilds are in-game alliances of up to 25 players who work together to accomplish common objectives and earn rewards.
How do I enter/leave a Guild?
You can join a guild by searching through a list of recommended guilds or looking up a guild by its name or guild ID.
Guilds have three statuses: open to all, request only, and invite only.
a) Open to all means a player may immediately join without an invite or request.
b) Request only means a player must submit a request, and guild admins will accept or decline requests.
c) Invite only means a player must receive an invite from the guild and accept it to join.
Please remember that you can only send a limited number of requests and must wait for them to be rejected or approved to send more.
If you want to leave your current Guild and look for a new one, you can do so by entering the Guild menu and pressing the Info button, where you should find the “Leave” button.
You may rejoin a guild you were previously part of. However, if you were kicked out and blacklisted, you would no longer be able to join the guild in question.
Can I create my own Guild?
You may create your own guild for the cost of 50 gems. You can set the Guild name (with a 20-character limit), emblem, description, invite status, and Knight requirements. As the founder of the Guild, you will become the leader.
You can edit all the above options later on except for the name. Currently, the only way to change the name of your Guild is to submit a Customer Support request. You may only change your Guild name once!
What are Guild Ranks?
There are 4 different ranks for members of a guild.
Leader: the leader of the Guild is designated with three gold chevrons. They may be the founder or someone the previous leader transferred their role too. A leader may promote, demote or kick other guild members. They can summon the Guild Boss, edit their guild options (emblem, description, message of the day), recruit members and accept/decline player joining requests. They cannot be kicked; however, after 14 days of inactivity, the leader will be automatically demoted.
Co-Leader: just below the Leader, Co-Leaders are designated with two silver chevrons. They may perform tasks a leader may do, except they can only kick members below Co-Leader rank and promote members up to Officer. If a Leader transfers their role or is inactive after 14 days, they will get this role. There is no limit on how many Co-Leaders a guild can have.
Officer: officers are below the Co-Leaders, designated with one bronze chevron. They can only kick members and accept/decline to join requests. There is no limit on how many Officers a guild can have.
Member: in the last rank, Members do not have any administrative privileges. They can, however, contribute actively to any Guild activity.
Why should I join a Guild?
Being in a Guild is not mandatory, nor will you be penalized for not joining one. However, given that Guild activities offer a significant amount of rewards, it would be a decision that could sometimes hinder your progress.
Additionally, being part of a guild is mandatory to participate in Guild Wars, which also offers many rewards.
Besides the rewards, being in a guild offers a sense of community. It also opens the door to communication with other players in case you ever get stuck on a quest, or a particular enemy is giving you a hard time.
Battle strategy is one of the key elements during Guild Wars since each move made on the Map can completely change the end of the War - hence why communication with your guildmates is key in these moments!
You and your guildmates will be recognized for your cumulative efforts by being part of a Global leaderboard.
What are Guild Currencies and Rewards?
To participate in different Guild activities, you will have to spend certain items such:
Meat: used to fight Guild Bosses. You can only carry a maximum of 3 pieces of meat at a time. It is mainly produced by Farms but can also be obtained from certain Roaming Monsters.
Orders: used to perform an action in Guild Wars, such as “contend” or “defend.” You may own more than 4 orders at a time, but remember that the refresh is capped at 4. They also do not carry over from one War to another.
Lumber: used to fortify locations you control in Guild Wars by powering up your defending Knights and PvE enemies. Unlike orders, these carry over from previous Wars but do not refresh.
There are multiple currencies you can earn by participating in Guild Activities such as:
Accolades: a resource that can be primarily obtained from fighting Guild Bosses and can be spent in the Guild Shop.
Laurels: resources that can be obtained from participating in Guild Wars. Can be donated to obtain various customization rewards for the Guild Hall.
Garlands: resources that can be obtained from participating in Guild Wars. Can be spent in the Spoils of War Shop.
There are other rewards you can also obtain from participating in certain activities. For example, by defeating a Guild Boss, you will receive Guild Experience, and for Special Event Bosses, you can also obtain Event Points.
Rest assured that each activity will inform you of the possible rewards you may obtain by participating in it.
What are Guild Activities?
There are multiple activities a member can participate in, such as:
Guild Wars: A game mode where four competing guilds fight for control over a node-based map, fighting Monsters and enemy Knights along the way. Laurels and Garlands earned in this mode can be exchanged for various rewards.
Weekly tasks: Guild members gain extra tasks that refresh every Monday at midnight GMT. These tasks award various Resources and Battle Boosts, as well as Guild XP and Contribution Points.
Leveling up: Leveling up allows members access to higher-level Guild Bosses, new Guild Relics, and better prizes during Voting. A Guild levels up by collecting Guild XP, which is earned through Weekly Tasks and by defeating Guild Bosses. The current maximum Guild Level is 80.
Guild bosses: These are special Boss Monsters that are defeated collectively by a Guild. Each player in the guild may engage in a battle with a Guild Boss by spending Meat. You may read more in the in-game FAQ designated just for Guild Bosses. You may win XP and Guild Accolades by defeating them.
Voting: When at least five members are in a guild, a voting process starts every week. It lasts for 5 days. Two choices are available for guild members to vote. Possible voting choices include Gold, Gems, a stack of Tomes, Hero Shards, and Chests.
Arena: You may fight alongside your guildmates to score high points in Arena and bring fame to your Guild! The score is cumulative from all members.
And now... back to the battlefield!
Only Knights that were present in a Guild at the start of the Guild War are allowed to participate in that War. Any new Knights must wait until the next Guild War to participate.
If a player leaves a Guild during a Guild War and re-joins within the week, they may continue to participate in that Guild's War.
Each Guild War event takes place over 7 days, in the middle of existing Special Events. At the end of the event, players are awarded Laurels and Garlands based on their guild's placement and performance. These can be exchanged for rewards at the The Quartermaster's Shop and the Guild Shop.
At the start of the Guild War, four guilds are put into four corner nodes of a single map, consisting of 81 nodes in a 9 x 9 diamond-shaped grid. There are 9 types of node:
Guild Base: a node that will always belong to its initially assigned Guild.
Crossroads: a node that offers small reward, but is invaluable for reaching other parts of the Map.
Gem Mine - a node that generates 1 Gem for the controlling Guild every 3 hours.
Gold Mine: a node that generates 1,000 Gold for the controlling Guild every 6 hours.
Lumberyard: a node that generates Lumber for the controlling Guild.
Banner: a node that generates Glory for the controlling Guild.
Town: a node that generates Orders for the controlling Guild.
Vault: a node that generates Chests for the controlling Guild.
Fortress: a Fortified node that makes its defenders hit harder.
Tower: an un-Fortifiable node that grants a buff to members of the controlling Guild.
Attacking and Conquering
Guilds conquer nodes by having a player Contend that node using an Order. The player who contends the node has 30 minutes in which they can attempt to attack the node before requiring another Order.
Unoccupied nodes are defended by Roaming and Standard Monsters, including the unique Special Event Monsters, and are battled in typical fashion.
If the node has been conquered by a Guild, that Guild may choose to have one of their Knights guard the node using an Order, adding their AI Defense Loadout and Minions as an extra battle before being able to contend the node. This battle is fought with their Minions in a style similar to Arena League, with a few changes:
The turn order is selected randomly.
The attacking Knight is allowed to use Battle Boosts.
Conquering a node grants 100 Glory to the player's Guild.
Fortification
Players may Fortify their occupied nodes using 1 Order and 10 Lumber per fortification level (10 lumber for level 1, 20 for level 2, etc). Fortification increases the damage of the defending Knight and enemy Monsters by 25% per fortification, as well as adding a Roaming Monster based on the Fortification level. Each player may fortify a node once per node, per day.
If a player attacks a Fortified node, but does not win the battle, the Fortification of that node is reduced by 1 level.
Negative Fortification
Nodes will now be able to enter a negative fortification state, which weakens defenders and strengthens attackers. This will help players capture those high-value nodes currently held by undefeatable players.
Players can remove a node from a negative fortification state by spending lumber to re-fortify it. Regardless of how deep the negative state is, the node will always return to a neutral or positive state once re-fortified. However, the lumber cost increases the further the node has fallen into negative fortification.
Lumberyard Nodes
We are updating Lumberyard nodes to be more rewarding due to ongoing community sentiment. With the release of Negative Fortifications, we don’t want to sour this further.
Lumberyard Configuration:
25 Lumber for Takeover - No Change
25 Lumber every 12 hours - Down from 22 hours
Lumberyard nodes can no longer be fortified
Key points
Nodes have a negative fortification state
Players can remove the negative fortification state with lumber
New Fortification bar to indicate maximum negative and positive fortification states
Players can re-defend a node after a war day reset if they have been defeated on the same node
