Greetings brave Knight,
Abyssal Mist is a special event that was introduced on August 24th, 2023. By entering the Sacred Portal, you will face and battle Shalkex Undead and Gragan Cult enemies to earn Event Points, which will grant rewards.
Enemies
The first members of the Abyssal Covenant came from a race named the Shalkex. In life, the Shalkex believed knowledge was the most noble pursuit of all, and many dedicated every waking moment to study. After making contact with the cosmic being V'eggarh, they were linked as a single mind to become the Abyssal Covenant. The Abyss now expand their knowledge, and their ranks, by invading other worlds and turning others into the same Undead monsters they have become.
Zezha retains some of her own will and uses it to coordinate the Covenant's forces. She wanders worlds targeted by her dark deity, looking for new members for the Covenant... willing or not. Her Shroud of Madness power gives her allies Focus and Stealth, and may also Expose your Knight!
Gelkar also retains a shred of free will. He identifies threats to V'eggarh's plans and crushes those threats by any means necessary. His Soul Sacrifice power gives an ally a huge boost in power, but destroys them after they attack.
Abyssal Zealots give their lives to further the Covenant's goals. Their Beyond the Veil power gives them Fury, Haste, and Stealth, making them incredibly threatening if not dealt with quickly.
Abyssal Warlocks channel cosmic magic to devastate their enemies. They can cast Shade of Shalkex to poison Knights and to give themselves Stealth.
Guilds should gather their finest to battle against the Shade of V'eggarh. This sliver of the cosmic deity is a danger to any who look upon it, but it could be lured to the Guild Coliseum to keep the mainland safe.
Heroes
The Abyssal Covenant has claimed many worlds, but even in victory there are two names their forces fear.
Doceo was from Neorxan, a world of great beauty and innovation. Doceo was a social pariah due to studying magic in a world of technology. Still, they studied their craft at length in order to help a society that didn't accept their ways. When the Covenant came it was Doceo's spells that held the Undead back the longest, preventing Doceo's foes from using magic, or stunning them completely.
Lucius was a Kolasi, a race born with the power to draw power from their surroundings. When the Abyssal Covenant attacked, Lucius and his people fought back with unmatched vigor. Lucius would wait in the sidelines of each battle, ambushing the enemy where they were weakest. This lead to him absorbing less of the Abyssal Covenant's energy than his allies, leaving him empowered, but not corrupted, when the Kolasi finally fell to V'eggahr's minions.
Did you know...?
...The enemy design and names are similar to depictions of the Old Gods and their followers from H. P. Lovecraft mythos, specifically Hastur, the King in Yellow.
