Greetings brave Knight,
The Mythic Rift is a location in Knighthood, opened to players at Level 40. It is located at the Temple of Aeons node in White Peak. It contains the weekly dungeon named Trials of the Rift and the facilities for summoning and upgrading Mythic Equipment facilitated by The Still and the Lady of the Lake.
Trials of the Rift - or just referred to as “Rift” - is a weekly dungeon in which players traverse up to seven Realms, defeating enemies and Bosses.
Each Realm contains battles, decisions, locked doors, one Boss per floor, and two Rift Shops. Players can choose between a Normal and an Expert difficulty mode each time.
Expert Rift is only unlocked once the player has completed "The Next Chapter" Side Story, which requires the following:
- Reach level 40
- Defeat the Final Boss in the Rift
- Reach a threat level of 300 in the Rift.
The Trials reset every Monday at 8:00 UTC.
**Once you have selected your difficulty for the week, it cannot be changed. You will be stuck with it until the next reset.
Similar to the Arena, players must use a currency named Map Fragments to participate in the Rift. A player can engage in no limited number of battles; however, each fight will have you lose one Map Fragment.
Essentially, once you lose three battles, you cannot participate in more battles unless you buy another map using gems.
**Maps refresh weekly, and the maximum number that can be obtained this way is 3. You can have more of them at the same time. If you have at least or more than 3 Maps at the end of the week, you will not receive new ones after the weekly refresh.
Each Realm or floor is composed of a number of islands or nodes, which players need to complete by defeating the enemies to advance further into the floor. Additionally, each Realm will have one Boss that players must defeat to obtain rewards and access to the next floor.
**Not all floors require defeating a Boss to advance to the next floors.
Some enemies you will encounter will be familiar ones you have already encountered in Story mode. By defeating a Boss, players may obtain Charms, weapons/equipment, Hero shards, Gauntlet cores, and other upgrade materials. In Expert Rift, you may also receive Karnheim-relevant upgrade materials, such as top-level Tellurian and Volcanite, plus Drops of Patience.
This game mode introduces Rift Power which is a leveling system for Epic and higher-rarity Heroes and Mythic Equipment. It determines the overall strength of the Knight and its damage and defense. It is separate from standard Levels and XP and can only be gained from Battles in the Trials of the Rift.
Threat is a value in the Trials of the Rift that determines the Rift Power of Monsters. In combat, the Threat level is measured against the player Knight's total Rift Power and determines the strength of the Monsters in that battle. The higher the Threat is above Rift Power, the stronger the enemies. Threat increases by 5 per victory and decreases by 15 per loss.
Traps are battle modifiers that alter the performance of the combatants in battle (players, Heroes, and enemies). At the start of each week, a random trap is activated, and more can be activated through Choices placed randomly in the Rift.
Up to 3 traps may be active at a time; if a player chooses to activate a trap when the trap bank is full, the oldest trap is deactivated.
**You do not need to keep track of these as they will be displayed on the screen.
Decisions and Locked doors are special nodes in the Rift. Decisions give the player the option to choose between two rewards. Locked doors unlock new nodes on a specific realm - these doors can only be opened using keys that come into 3 categories: Old (bronze), Intricate (silver), and Mysterious (gold). Cannot be purchased and can only be obtained from the Rift.
The Rift also gives the player the possibility to obtain Mythic Equipment - a new set of weapons and equipment. This can be obtained by sacrificing a number of required items at the Lady of the Lake.
The Still is a feature that allows players to exchange items from their Inventory in order to receive Mythic Essence - or just known as 'Essence'. This is the primary currency used in order to pay for the creation of the Mythic items.
'Essence' can also be used in the Rift Shop, "Bones' Bazaar,” in order to buy charm editing tools, keys, and special Skins. The shops appear twice in the Mythic Rift, in Realm 3 and Realm 7, for each difficulty.
Finally, players can also accumulate points from Rift battles that will be used to determine one’s position on the Rift Leaderboard.
