Behind the Scenes: Queen Krita

Greetings brave Knights!

Today, we're taking a look at the creation of Queen Krita, the fabled queen of ancient Mirefen! She made her debut in the Hero's Challenge event in 2023. Since then, she has become a staple of warrior builds and a fan-favorite hero.

After settling on the steam-powered arm, we had to scale it back because it was simply too massive - she looked too powerful! Here's another fun fact: one of these early concepts later inspired the Abyssal Mist hero, Lucius.

As the first new hero introduced through a Hero's Challenge event, Queen Krita didn't launch with a skin. Since then, however, she has received two unique skins.

With the return of Hero's Challenge events in 2025, we introduced Queen of the Damned during Queen Krita's event. While designing this skin, the art team explored a "What If?" scenario in which Queen Krita had been corrupted by the Dark Ones, becoming one of the lieutenants of their dark forces.

In 2026, Queen Krita returned to her noble roots with The Guardian Kvinne, a skin inspired by her role as queen and the steadfast guardian of her people.
